We see everything among the injured athlete population from overuse injuries, sprains, muscle strains, fractures to post-surgical injuries and more. Here at elevate, our physical therapists will not only help you recover from your injury, but also help you reach your peak athletic performance.
One of our favorite populations to work with is the geriatric population. Elevate Physical Therapy boasts an inviting and sociable environment that is conducive to helping you achieve your goals. Research has repeatedly proven exercise to be a driving force for improving quality of life and decreasing the risk of mortality among older adults. With the evidence being so strong, it is necessary to find a good coach who can teach you the in’s and out’s to exercise. Another major component of training among this population is balance and fall prevention. The CDC reports that falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults 65 years of age and older. Let us help you decrease your fall risk, improve your quality of life, and achieve your goals by providing you with a tailored program to fit your needs.
Vestibular problems can place a big hold on your day-to-day activities. Did you know that there are several different types of vestibular problems. To make it more complicated, each type has a specific treatment protocol. While this can be difficult to navigate on your own, the therapists at Elevate Physical Therapy are trained in isolating the root of the problem and recover as quickly as possible. Some of the most common symptoms related to vestibular pathologies include: movement or position provoked dizziness, vertigo, spinning, headaches, and nausea. These can persist for anywhere from only a few days to months at a time.
While physical therapy places heavy focus on relieving your pain, at Elevate Physical Therapy we pride ourselves with our skill to also help you safely return to peak performance. As movement analysis experts, we will break down the movements of your hobbies/sports with the purpose of identifying poor timing of muscle activation, an imbalance of musculature, and weakened neuromuscular firing. Each of these factors will be examined, isolated, and improved in order to help you safely return to your sport and reach all of your goals once again.
One of the most underserved and underrated needs are those of pre- and post- partum patients. Pregnancy is strenuous on your entire body. Like any other traumatic event, after labor your body requires retraining musculature of the core, pelvic floor, and surrounding areas. Weakened body systems may lead to additional factors such as incontinence, low back/pelvic pain, diastasis recti, and other dysfunctions. If left untreated, these symptoms may persist for years or even decades after pregnancy. Research has repeatedly proven the effectiveness of physical therapy both before and after labor. If you are/were pregnant, come see us so we can help you prepare for and navigate your recovery.
